This Grow your own mini sunflowers kit is the perfect first flower for a young child to grow.

This children’s growing kit contains a yellow 8cm bamboo plant pot, a peat-free coir disc and seeds, so everything you need to start growing sunflower plants on a sunny windowsill indoors.

Ideally sow indoors in April-May. When plants are large enough to handle, transfer them into individual pots and keep growing on, watering well. In late May-early June plant them up into peat-free compost in patio pots or a border. Place in a sunny, sheltered spot outdoors.

Not suitable for children under 3 years.
